Trebinje

Trebinje is a town and seat of the eponymous municipality in the Serbian Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina. City Name or derived from the Latin word Tribunus (Tribunus militum the commander of a higher or smaller units of the Roman army) or from the Slavic word Treb, which means offering (sacrifice).

Tebinje is the situated at the south of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the entities within the Serbian Republic. It is situated below the mountain Leotar, Perimeter Trebinjskog fields. Through the town flows the river Trebišnjica River. Since the sea is situated about 25 km (by road to Dubrovnik). For Trebinje is said that the city of the sun and the plane. Trebinje is the economic and cultural center of the region of Eastern Herzegovina.

Trebinje is located at 42 ° 42 '32 "north latitude, and 18 ° 19' 18" east longitude and 274 m above sea level. Roads connected to Dubrovnik (27 km), Ljubinje (55 km), Mostar (110 km), Bileca (30 km) and Nik (70 km) and Herceg New (38 km).
